About this Blog…

I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. I acted and behold, service was joy.     –Rabindranath Tagore

In June of 2011, I traveled to the Lakota Sioux Reservation in Pine Ridge, South Dakota with nursing students from Methodist College as part of their coursework.  We repeated this trip in June of 2012 with more students and the addition of another instructor.  Trips have continued through 2014–the students are tasked with learning about the rich and beautiful Lakota culture while also offering health promotion activities.  In 2016, Indiana University Southeast nursing students made the trip to Pine Ridge for the first time.  Follow along as we visit a place and a people like no other!
